Dear ADSM folks,

From the ADSM faq:

>1.Can NFS-mounted file systems be used as storage pool/ADSM data base volumes?

>We do not recommend this because some of the NFS protocols may return to
>ADSM indicating a successful write when in fact the write may have been
>done to volatile cache. This may cause data integrity problems.

We'd like some clarification of what the question and answer
mean. The wording of the answer makes us think that this answers the
question "Can adsm manage an NFS-mounted filesystem" and not "Can an
adsm-managed local filesystem be exported to NFS clients?" ADSM
should not see an NFS protocol write if it's managing a local disk
but would be doing NFS writes if trying to manage a remote filesystem.

Could someone please clarify this? Thanks,

Dave Saunders
