I have periodically had this problem with some of the unix clients - mostly
Sun, but also had it with the OSF/1 client. I call the support center, and
the level 1 guy orders the tape for me, in the preferred media. Why you
can't order it through IBMLink is a mystery ......

When I go into IBMLink to order IP21104, to get the tape media, it tells me that

the PTF is not available. What do I have to do to get this tape? My customers
are beating at my door!

Yes it is. The version of IP20999 (level 0.6G) that allows installation
on 2.5.1 is only available on the anonymous FTP server. The version of
IP20999 shipping now on client tape media (level 0.6) still prevents
installation on Solaris 2.5.1, so media customers need to order IP21104.
Other than the shared memory communication support for the
V2 Sun Server and the level number difference (0.6G vs. 0.7),
IP20999 level 0.6G on the Internet and IP21104 are identical.

There is not going to be a PTF 7 (2.1.0.7) for all client platforms.
We are saving that level for certain unique clients, like this new
support on the Solaris 2.5 client. The next PTF for all clients
should be PTF 8 (2.1.0.8) in the second half of this year.

We have no plans for that at this time.
