Hello!

What happens when a UNIX disk crashes and a scheduled ADSM backup
is run subsequently?

The problem appears to be as follows: In some UNIXes it is possible
that after a disk crash you only see the filesystem's empty mount
point (just as if the file system had been unmounted).

So the ADSM backup client will mark all files in the file system
as "inactive". So the poor system manager will have to restore the
file system with -LATEST, resurrecting thousands of files that have
been deleted by users but have not expired.

How to prevent this type of failure?
