I have just downloaded Version 2.1.5 for Windows 95 to correct the full
backups that were occurring after the time change (Daylight Savings to
Standard).

I AM NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!

The installation process is one of the worst pieces of garbage that I have
run across in quite a while. Not only is it unnecessarly complex but it does
not appear to adhere to any acceptable standard as to where it installs the
files. What's wrong with c:\adsm or c:\Program Files\adsm. Even c:\adsm32 is
bad enough.

I have automated the installation of Version 2.1.3 using Winbatch code so
that the user needs only to enter the Node Id and optionally the password.
The dsm.opt file is created, the required files are selected, and the
installation is completed without any furthur input by the user.

This process appears to be all but impossible with version 2.1.5. many
screens do not not even respond to keyboard input (they require the actual
mouse click).

I have yet to understand why the Administrative Client should be part of a
default installation process. We have 700+ users on campus and only 2
administrators.

With about 20 installations a week, I think that I will stay with 2.1.3 for
a while longer.

Oh by the way, with regards to the time change problem that was supposed to
be corrected with this version, I started an incremental backup with the new
version and I was much dismayed to find that it was backing up the entire
disk again (It already did it once this week).

The x%#@ thing did not even delete cleanly from the Windows 95 Control Panel.
