We are currently running the HPUX ADSM 2.1.01 Client on various HP-UX 9.04
systems. We are attempting to upgrade our HPUX Clients to 2.1.03. The ADSM
Client installation uses the 'update' command to complete the installation
of the code.

Since HP-UX 10 has done away with 'update' we have been trying to use the
'swinstall' and 'swcopy' set of commands as follows: 'swcopy -s /dev/rmt/0m
IBMADSM-CLIENT' and 'swinstall -s /dev/rmt/0m IBMADSM-CLIENT' to both
create a new software depot and install the ADSM HPUX Client on our HP-UX
10 systems.

The 'swinstall/swcopy' commands fail with various I/O errors from both the
physical 4mm tape and an FTP'ed version of the 2.1.03 ADSM client code. Our
swagent.log file indicates the swcopy/swinstall failed to start a source
agent for the install process.

We are looking for anyone out there who has successfully installed the
2.1.03 HPUX ADSM Client on an HP-UX 10 system to give us some insight into
what we may be missing or provide an outline of commands that has worked to
complete this install.
