There is an option called NWPWFILE that, if set to YES (the default =
value),
causes ADSM to encrypt the user ID and password you entered. The =
encrypted
info is stored in a file in the ADSM directory with a .PWD extension. =
Next
time, instead of prompting for the information, ADSM reads it out of the
.PWD file. NWPWFILE is set in DSM.OPT.
The method I prefer is to set NWPWFILE to NO and use the NWUSER option. =
This
option also goes in DSM.OPT (where else?) and specifies the server name,
user ID, and password. Although it isn't encrypted, as long as no one =
else
can get at your DSM.OPT file, you're really not exposed.
There is no equivalent to password=3Dgenerate, where ADSM will =
automatically
generate new passwords.
