I've just finished installing the MS Windows 3.1 ADSM client. It
would have been OK for a first-time install, but it leaves something
to be desired for an upgrade ...
The default action seems to install everything. I'd rather see
the default action *not* install the administrative client. The
default is to install the 3270 files, though they have no use in
this shop. Maybe it could be a smarter install or be off by
default?
The default is to rename all old files to *.BAK. This might be
a special option action, but I'd rather see the old files
removed/rewritten.
One is asked to save the old DSM.OPT file before something
(close to worthless) is written. Better to take the MacOS ADSM
action and leave this file alone if it already exists. If IBM
changes anything in the default DSM.OPT file, then tell us about
it in the README file, but leave my nicely tailored DSM.OPT file
alone, please! If I want to restart from scratch, I've got the
sample file DSM.SMP.
cheers,
