AFTD devices can read or write, but not at the same time, I believe. There's no backup job writing to the AFTD that is stuck, preventing read access for the cloning job?

I would also check to make sure there are no zombie NW processes on the client, after gracefully stopping the NW services. Maybe there is something stuck there.
