Kevin,

All the entries in the tecint.conf file are explained in the NetView for UNIX Administrator's Reference. Look under "tecint.conf"

"Priming" is an activity that nvcorrd does when a new ruleset is registered. He takes the last 100 events that nvserverd has stored in his internal cache and runs them against the ruleset to see whether any of them match the ruleset criteria. This is a most useful behavior if you are opening a new Events Window because you may see it populated right away instead of waiting for the next matching event.

But if you stop and restart nvserverd or just the adapter and restart soon thereafter, there is a chance you can send duplicate events to TEC. Now normally, TEC handles duplicate just fine and there is nothing to worry about. But if you should find that your operational procedures or environment are causing a problem with duplicate events sent to TEC, then you should uncomment #NvserverdPrimeTecEvents=NO

The default as I just explained is YES.

Could someone inform me as to what the significance is of this switch is in the tecint.conf file?
