Thanks for your reply.
These nodes can be managed/unmanaged in the usual manner.
The object properties appears to be normal.
Demand poll is not available as only ping is enabled in the test menu.
The nodes can be pinged from there or from a command line.
snmp is not available on these nodes.

I think you should open a PMR to support. Your question requires investigation and cannot be answered until it is determined what is the matter at hand.

Unknown or blue status means that the nodes are not fully discovered or not managed. If you select one of these nodes, can you demand poll it? What happens? If you select it, can you display the object properties (Object-->Object Properties)? If you right click it, do you have the option to manage it?

How do you know netmon can ping it? Have you been examining the netmon trace?

[NV-L] Discovered Nodes over VPN

I'm running Netview 7.1.4 on Windows.
We have some remote nodes connected via VPN.
Netview discovers them and can ping them but their status is always 'unknown'
How can I get the status to update correctly?
