No. You don't have to stop anything. In fact the daemons have to be up for it to work.

Hi,,
When i do the restart automatic map generation, do i need to stop all the daemons before doing that and do i need to stop the snmpcollect daemon. Please advice me whether i need to shut down the db also which is running in the same Netview server.
