Re: [NV-L] NetView 7.1.4 - User1 Interpretation

User1 is also used for ISDN links that are "dormant" as well as virtual addresses in cisco firewalls and devices supporting the HSRP mib.
I have seen the same problem as you on some sun servers. Check the snmp interface table of the device to see how the status is reported (interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifAdminStatus.X and interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus.X). In my case the snmp agent was reporting that the interface was administratively down.... event if it was up and responding to ping.

All,
Can someone remind me how NetView decides to use status color User1 (Pink) on device symbols/icons and interface symbols/icons? I know on Cisco equipment an Admin Down interface will have status color User1 (Pink).
We have some Nortel devices with an IP Status of User1 (Pink) and are pingable. They only have one NIC.
We're running NetView 7.1.4 (fp3) on Solaris 2.8.
TIA,
Stephanie
