RE: [NV-L] Map Permissions
2006-09-05 11:16:48
- Configure Java Console processes so that only root and the Read/Write map
owner have them:
- chown root.system /usr/OV/registration/C/maptreeserver.reg
/usr/OV/registration/C/virtualdesktop
- chmod 0440
/usr/OV/registration/C/maptreeserver.reg
/usr/OV/registration/C/virtualdesktop
- Configure the default map so that only the root user or someone
that belongs to the system group
can open the Read/Write map
- /usr/OV/bin/ovwperms -a -G -l
-m 664 -u root -g system
- /usr/OV/bin/ovwls
- On Linux systems you must use a mask of 775 instead of
664.

Is there a specific way to give read-write permision to the default map to
the root user only, and give read-only permissions to users that will just be
viewing the map, as a way to inhibit changes to the overall configuration?
Thanx.
