This is a little out of my league, but I would take all the GUIs down
and
run the ovw routines, ovw_fields, ovw_config, and ovw_verify, at least,
and
check the output.

Hello,

AIX 5.2 ML6, Netview 7.1.4 FP4

Trying to convert a "generic icon" for an AP (in this example).

1) GOT the oid 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.525 for the Access Point.
2) entered it on the oid_to_sym file
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.525:Cisco Fast Hub:cisco-AP1200Family
3) verified that file definition existed.--
/usr/OV/symbols/C/CVTYPE:
SymbolType "Cisco Fast Hub" : "cisco-AP1200Family"
{
        Filebase "ap1200";
        CursorSize 38;

        Capabilities {
                ciscoType = "cisco-AP1200Family";
                isCisco = 1;
        }

}
4) Double checked bitmaps:
/usr/OV/bitmaps/C:ls ap1200*
ap1200       ap1200.26.m  ap1200.32.p  ap1200.44.m  ap1200.50.p
ap1200.20.m  ap1200.26.p  ap1200.38.m  ap1200.44.p
ap1200.20.p  ap1200.32.m  ap1200.38.p  ap1200.50.m

Everything looks ok. Just wondering why when Netview discovers an AP is
does not put the right icon. It displays a generic one. I can do
modify-change symbol type and can select/change to the AP symbol.

What else do I have to do make Netview automatically put the right
symbol?
or I always have to go in manually and edit-> change symbol type?

Thanks,

Catalina
