If your community string is something other than public, it is probably dpid2.

Here's a note I wrote to myself when I had this problem.
The hostmibd daemon is an snmp subagent (a smux agent) on AIX which supplies the answers to SNMP queries of variables defined in the MIB II Hosts mib section - system information about disk, memory, cpu, etc. This daemon requires dpid2 to be up first, to handle communication between hostmibd and snmpd. If dpid2 is not up, hostmibd keeps trying forever. The hostmibd daemon uses an SNMP query to find out what port to talk to dpid2 on. It uses the community string of 'public' to make this query unless a different one is specified in its startup in /etc/rc.tcpip.

Have you checked AIX's SNMP settings? I wonder if your smux settings have changed

[nv-l] FP004

Just installed FP004 on 7.1.4 with AIX 5.2.  The installation went fine, everything check out O.K
Re-booted the server and received: "IBM Incorrect community name (authentication failure)"
I have tried everything to resolve this issue, utilized xnmsnmpconf to clear cache, databases,  check all xxxsnmp files
looks good. I am able to snmpwalk the device but nothing seems to resolve the problem.

Could this be something with FP004? or have I  missed something.
