This sounds like a device configured for SNMP monitoring for which SNMP is failing.  Community string problem?  Unintentional monitoring by SNMP?

We are using NetView 7.1.4 FP3 Windows. The NetView just started to act weird, it shows the interface status to critical/down(RED) but when i ping the interface it changes back to green and UP, but after few seconds it again changes back to RED (Down). What is going on the interface is up but shows down in NetView?? Any suggestions where to look!
