Raluca,
You would need to configure each snmp agent, on each device, to the proper name for whomever owns the machine. Not something undertaken lightly, trust me it is much easier said than done.

    Hi David,
One of the Inventory Query (PC_BIOS_QUERY) has a column User_name
that from what I see in my env. is the name of the user using that
computer. So I'm thinking that if I install Inventory server on
Netview server (that is MN), I can run from Netview wrimsql
commands to return information from database.
But how can I add a netview menu and from there to run a
command which pick up the name of the selected box and then run
Tivoli command line inventory queries?? Can you help with this?
    many thanks,
Raluca Baciu

        Raluca,
Tivoli Inventory does not query the user-name out of the box.
My Inventory expert tells me that you would have to create a
custom MIF file for that. My suggestion would be to write a
script that would query LDAP for user information. Any script
that you create could be launched by NetView.

        Hi list,

I see there'a product called NIMCM for this integration. But
        from what I
read it only allows to export network information in Inventory
        database.
I'm looking for a solution where I can right-click an object
        in a map and
can made an Inventory query (or at least to see the user
        assoc. with that
computer, as naming convention does not suggest where or who's
        computer
        is).

do you know something about this?

        thanks, raluca
