Re: [nv-l] man page for nvPerms

I'd recommend taking a backup of the
/usr/OV directory before running this, since there is no backout for it.

Jane,
this is what we got from L3 support some time ago:
------
When we first decided to put nvPerms into the Fix Pack, we were planning
on including a man page as well, and the release notes indicated that.
However, as the functionality and usage of the script simplified, we decided
we could get by with a usage statement in the script itself.
We must not have taken all of the references to a man page out of the
release notes. I will check on that and the release notes updated
before the next fixpack release.

| [nv-l] man page for nvPerms |

NV 7.1.4 Fixpack2 Release notes say to consult "man nvPerms"
for
information on the new security script. I have this Fixpack on a
Suse
Linux (fresh install) and on an AIX 5.1 (upgraded from goodness only
know what level of NetView). Both have /usr/OV/service/nvPerms; neither
appear to have a man entry for nvPerms. It's not the end of the world
as it is only a 137-line shellscript, but it would be nice if the man
page was there to match the Release Notes!
Anyone else got different results?
Cheers,
Jane
