Most likely there is a missing MIB. What's in the IMPORTS section of the MIB you tried to run mib2trap on?

RE: [nv-l] No FMT in trapd.conf

Hey Don,
I did execute the script to add the traps but none of the them were added.
Firstly when i did mib2trap mibfile mibfile.sh, i got many messages as below:

Left-over node nodeGroup ::= { cerent454Groups 10 } (0)

Enterprise object id not found for trap alarmUnknown, (6,1)

Then when i ran script file.. nothing added but error message was "enterprise id could not be found.." Did you come across this when it happned to you?
Many Thanks,
Larry

Larry,
One more thing.
mib2trap does produce a script with 274 traps defined when run against the cerent454.mib.txt file.
Including the 2120 Threshold trap.

      Larry,
      I discovered this MIB link the other day. It seems pretty comprehensive. Do a <CTRL-F> and search for 3607.

      http://www.assure24.com/databases/snmp-mib/private

      It lists the following available Cerent MIBs. They are MIB-2...... :(
      I briefly looked through the "NOTIFICATION-TYPE" clauses and see that a 2120 event is defined as follows.
      DESCRIPTION "performance Monitor Threshold Crossing Alert"
      ::= { cerent454V2Events 2120 }

      It looks like some threshold was exceeded with a value of 20. I could be way off on this since I am not an SNMPv2 expert.
      Like James said, you are going to have to define these yourself. Look through the MIB files for "NOTIFICATION-TYPE".
      These are the trap definitions.
      Best regards,
      Don Davis

          [nv-l] No FMT in trapd.conf

          Hi all,
          I need some help. We are getting these "No FMT in Trapd.conf" as below:

          " TEC_ITS_BASE - NO FMT IN TRAPD.CONF: mgmt.mib-2.snmp (1.3.6.1.2.1.11) generic:4 specific:0 args(2): [1] private.enterprises.3607.6.10.100.10.20.0 (OctetString): 20041214125033D [2] enterprises.3607.6.10.20.30.20.1.80.638648832.2120 (Integer): 20 "

          Our Network guys say that this is Cerent 15454 device with 2.5 software version and they don't have the software. I have looked into entire Cisco site but unable to get this. Could anyone has the mibs and forward to me please.?

          Also can this be manually added in trap config? if so what will be the enterprise id, generic & specific?

          We have 7.1.3 FP3 on AIX.

          Many Thanks,

          Larry.
