If you have Tivoli Configuration Manager
(TCM) then you can use the NetView Integration Module for Configuration
Manager (NIMCM, formerly TIPN, with event forwarding to TEC eliminated)
that is packaged with TCM. It allows you to pull NetView information
into the TCM database. The fields associated with interfaces,
networks, nodes and segments you can specify are:
Bridge Flag
Bus Segment Flag
Card Flag
Computer Flag
Connector Flag
FDDI Ring Segment Flag
IP Address
IP Flag
IP Hostname
IP Network Name
IP Router Flag
IP Status
IP Subnet Mask
Interface Flag
Internet Flag
Location Flag
NetView Mid Level Manager Flag
NetView Object Name
Network Flag
PC Flag
Printer Flag
Router Flag
SNMP Agent
SNMP Interface Description
SNMP Interface Type
SNMP MAC Address
SNMP Supported Flag
SNMP System Contact
SNMP System Description
SNMP System Location
SNMP System Object ID

Segment Flag
Serial Segment Flag
Star Segment Flag
Tivoli Interp Type
Tivoli Managed Node Flag
Tivoli PC Managed Node Flag
Tivoli TMA Endpoint Flag
Tivoli TMA Flag
Tivoli TMA Gateway Flag
Tivoli TME Flag
TokenRing Segment Flag
There is also a library of out-of-the-box
queries provided that target the NetView data collected:
NV_INVENTORY
NV_INVENTORY_BY_NETWORK
SEGMENTS
NETWORKS
INTERFACES
NODES_VERBOSE
CRITICAL_NODES_VERBOSE
NODES_SUMMARY
NODES_BY_VENDOR

What you see is what you get.
IBM Tivoli sells an inventory product, so inventory and asset management
is not a primary NetView function.
Try
ovobjprint > ovobjprint.out
and browse the result. If there's information in there you can use,
great. If not, then you are out of luck.
You can use nvdbformat to format a report of what's in the object database
(which is what you just printed out above) or
you can write your own script to extract what you want from that outfile.
See the man page on nvdbformat for examples of what to do.

Does anyone know if Netview is able to provide any
reporting? Meaning I would like to produce
a report for Inventory & Asset Management
on all of the devices in the network.
