Mario,

You may want to look at nvsniffer.conf, he seems to handle the port sniff for netview.  He will create a smart set and populate it with nodes if a port is open.  So by default if the port is not open the smart set will not be populated.

This solution works for me on a solaris setup with nv7.1.3 fp02 for determining if ports are open that we want, and or shut for the ones we do not wish to have active.

Hi list,

I have to make sure that a group of servers have Telnet, Rexec, FTP, etc
turned off. Can I do that with NV ? Would the servmon daemon work in this
case ?

Thank you.

Mario
