Sorry. Still cannot help you.
My advice is to code around the problem if you can.

I was interested in the debug
libraries because I am curious to find out where the problem is. It could
be our code or the Netview libraries. If it turned out to be Netview then
there is nothing that can be done to fix it.
The core file shows the get response
PDU returned to the session callback function is nothing like expected.
There are 3 varbinds instead of 1. The oid and value in the first varbind
are rubbish. The length of the oid in the second varbind is huge. This
is probably why the free PDU call causes a core dump.

Robin

It would highly unlikely that you could obtain a debug library for the
level you are at. That's what being out of support means.
That level of code (NetView 6.0.3 for Digital UNIX) is no longer active
and it would be archived somewhere. Since Digital UNIX is no longer
a supported platform, and has not been fro several years, we no longer
even have any Digital Unix boxes around that I am aware of. Speaking
for the Level 3 maintenance team, there are no build machines left for
it in our possession. And even if you got a debug library, and even
if you found a problem in OVSnmpFreePdu, so what? You could not fix
it without source code, and that would not be forthcoming without some
very unusual, and probably very expensive, exclusive use marketing agreements.
Even for us to fix it for you would be very expensive.
In any case, if you want to pursue this, I would discuss it with your IBM
marketing rep. In the long run however, I believe that it would be
far simpler and cheaper to adopt Linux as a platform at the current version.

Hi
I am using the Netview SNMP API on Digital UNIX and our version of Netview
is 6 (.03?).
Is there a way to get debug versions of the Netview libraries? The main
problem would be our version of Netview is not supported anymore.
I am interested in the debug versions because one of our programs core
dumped after calling OVsnmpFreePdu. This happens infrequently. I wanted
to do some memory leak checks using Third.
The call to OVsnmpFreePdu is made having processed a get response PDU.
The core dump shows the get response PDU to be a little odd in that the
program requested 1 varbind and the response had 3 varbinds.
Many thanks
Robin James
