Re: [nv-l] Forwarding to TEC

The short answer, basically, is "no". There is no log of events sent to TEC from the internal adapter in nvserverd.
You could create one, sort of, by adding an action node to your TEC ruleset and having it log the events you are asking nvserverd to send, so your log would guarantee that you asked nvserverd to send it, but that's about it. Your log would guarantee that you asked nvserverd
I take it, however, that you have checked the cache file in /etc/Tivoli/tec? If NetView loses contact with the TEC server, he stores events there until the connection is re-established. And you might also check the reception log in TEC (wtdumprl command on the TEC server) to see whether the event you sent took a parsing error.

Subject: [nv-l] Forwarding to TEC
|
Hi all,
aix 5.2/nv 7.1.3.
I forward events to TEC (3.7.1) and occasionally they can't be found in TEC
for some unexplained reason. Is there a way to confirm that an event was
actually forwarded?
Thanks,
