RE: [nv-l] ICMP polling

Thank
you James. I see this is the settings for SNMP polling, but what about
ICMP polling?
This is
user-configurable Dean. In SNMP Options on Windows or xnmsnmpconf on UNIX.
There you will find all the polling cycle variables.

RE: [nv-l] ICMP polling

When
Netview reports a interface down in the event stream, how many ICMP polls has
it sent to make the determination that this interface is down and how often
does it do this?
Same question on SNMP, when a router is reported down in
the event stream, how many SNMP polls were made to determine it is down and
how often does it do this at what intervals?
Sorry, I remember this
being asked in the group before and I have saved all messages over the past
three years I've been with the group, but I did a search and couldn't find
the thread where this was discussed.
