NetView client-server offloads GUI functions to the client, while maintaining another GUI on the server, and for that reason, only similar operating systems are supported.  Solaris and AIX can interoperate in this way.  Nothing else can. Linux does not support client-server at all.  And you cannot have a Windows client with anything but a NetView for  Windows server. I believe that information is part of the Release Notes.

What you should be looking at is the NetView web (also called java) console which is platform independent.

Hello everyone, i'm newby in Netview and i installed
the 7.1.3 server in a AIX 4.3.3 box, i have some
questions about the Client/Server configuration:
Is it possible to install a Netview client in a Linux
machine?
Is it possible to connect an Windows client to a Unix
Sever?

i hope that one of these scenarios be possible because
i cannot purchase an AIX machine to install the
client. At the moment i'm using the application
through a Linux machine using telnet, but as i read in
the manuals, if i install a client the server load
will be reduced.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Regards
Oscar
