Sounds to me as though it was deleted but then found again when you caused the seed file to be reloaded with netmon -y.
So perhaps this node being re-discovered when you reloaded the seed file. If one of your other seeds has that node in its arp cache, and there is nothing to prevent the node you juts deleted from being re-discovered, then it will be. Put a negative entry for it in the seed file and it won't be.

When removing a node from netview. I have deleted it from the seedfile and removed it from the map. Why when I run netmon -y does it show back up in the holding area? Were else do I need to remove it from?
When I run the command ovtopofix -r NODE it does not find the node.
Thanks
Frank

on NetView for Windows:
ovmapcount -u
ovstop netmon
ovtopofix
ovstart
should do the job.
@Eric: you should not use this undokumented stuff!
Kind regards

Eric,
I don't know if these command will work on NT, however here is the
procedure to fix your problem in Unix.
ovstop netmon
ovtopofix -r NODE (undocumented feature known from my HP NMM days :) )
ovmapcount -cu
ovmapcount -lu
ostart netmon

Jim

Subject: [nv-l] Deleting Nodes out of the object Database
Environment: Netview 7.1.1 on Windows NT
Maps:only 1 the default
I have a couple of nodes that are not showing up in the map, but when I the
topo2sql run and query the nodes table, it shows them as being up and
managed. I want to delete these nodes from the object database, will the
ovtopofix -a command resolve this issue? Is there a command to just delete
from object database? Thanks in advance for your input.
