Hi,
Two points on this. Whenever I have used RIM and Sybase, the Server ID parameter (specified by the -s parameter) has always been upper case, whether the database was on Unix or NT. Not sure why - one of these days I will learn to "speak database" better!

The second point is that I have never managed to make RIM work exactly as specified in the manuals. You are told to create a RIM object netview@<hostname> and this is what gets put into /usr/OV/conf/dbconf.dat when you configure NetView to use a relational database; however, I have always creted a RIM object simply called netview (no @hostname stuff), and then modified dbconf.dat similarly. (I don't think this is your current problem, but it might be your next one...)

Here is an example that worked for my system called poppet.skills-1st.co.uk:

wcrtrim -v Sybase -h poppet.skills-1st.co.uk -d netview -u netview -H c:/sybase -s POPPET netview

When you create the RIM, you are prompted for a password which should also be netview.

Hope that helps,
Jane
