Make sure you ahve current netmon patches including:

01/22/03 09:14:19 Successful installation of FixPack1
01/22/03 09:18:17 Successful installation of IY38709
03/25/03 10:13:52 Successful installation of IY40257
03/25/03 10:15:33 Successful installation of IY40575

There are several problems with NETMON using the wrong community string. To see
if you have this problem - watch for authentication failures or failed status
polls and then do a netmon -a 175. This will tell you what community string
netmon is using (regardless of what is coded in xnmsnmpconf)

Hello Leslie:

Thanks for your prompt response.

I have ran the command xnmsnmpconf to the device name and to each one of
the interfaces and I got a response.
I'm sure also that the community name(r/0) is correct.

Just to confirm, when you say: "add explicit entries to the SNMP configuration
dialog", does it means that I have to add each one of the device interfaces
in the netmon.seed file to be monitored as SNMP ($)?????

Thanks. Regards.
