We are running an old version of Netview because it was the last version
that supports a complimentary root cause product from Smarts called IPFM.
We have tarred up the files, and put them down on a new Solaris 2.8 box (our
old server is running Solaris 2.6). After going through this exercise,
everything runs fine as root. Everything except the map will run fine as a
user other than root. You get a typical Netview gray background x-window,
like it is trying to bring up the map, and then the x-window just goes away.

We also get the following error in the nv6000.log:

ld.so.1: nvauth: fatal: libdirent.so: open failed: No such file or directory

When we run as root, we get the following log error, but everything seems to
run fine:

 d.so.1: /usr/OV/bin/backup: fatal: ../../lib/libems.so: open failed: No
such file or directory
