Pablo,

I don't now exactly where this is on windows.
It is at the place where you can give options to specific daemons like
netmon. On Unix it update the "ovsuf" file so that the correct options are
given to the daemon on startup.

This is what the process of the daemon looks like on unix: It's the -D
option.
root 38952 17812 0 Mar 13 - 0:09 /usr/OV/bin/snmpCollect -D5
-m100 -c1440 -n5 -J60

maybe somebody else on the list can help you find the place where theses
options are changed on Windows ?

Pablo,

You can set the option in smitty for the snmpcollect daemon.
            * Defer time when node down (minutes): [5]
5 minutes instead of 60 minutes if you wish.

Hi List,

Netview 6.03 and W2K,

At the moment Netview collect traffic from some cisco routers, I check the
snmpCol.trace and found the following message several times :

Thu Mar 13 08:12:54 2003 : Deferring SNMP collection of ifOutOctets.7 on
             rtctgcham4a1.costacaribe.com 60 minutes (1.00 hours).
Consecutive
deferral #1.

I check the collection data on Mar 13 between 8:12 and 9:12 and there are
not mib data.

Anyone knows what is the reason for this message on the snmpCol.trace log ?
Why apparently the message refer to the instance 7 of the node, Netview not
collect the data on remain instances ?
There is any way to reduce this time "60 minutes (1.00 hours)" ?

Thanks

Pablo
