It is not clear to me why you need to do that command again once TEC is
back up. The TEC adapter in NetView should queue events while TEC is down.
Once TEC is operational, the first time you send a TEC event, that event
plus the queued ones should be sent to TEC without you doing any other
commands. Are you doing any changes in the adapter configuration file
beyond what NetView puts in there automatically?

Netview-TEC integration

Hi List,
Netview 7.1.2 AIX 4.3.3 ML-10
T/EC 3.7.1 (FP-03) AIX 4.3.3 ML-10
Listening to your questions about Netview-TEC integration, remember me to
ask you about how to mantain it alive.
Everytime we stop the T/EC server the integration goes down and only comes
up after execution of the command "nvtecia".
Does anybody know how to automate the integration restart ?????
Thanks in advance.

With those settings, events are cached up to the 200K limit, then I think
the file is wiped out and continues again up to
the limit, until the TEC server is available. So it is still
possible to lose events. Worst case, you would have
little or no data sent to TEC, for example, the TEC server becomes
available shortly after the file wraps. I'm assuming you are asking about
a
Unix version, NT may be slightly different.

Subject: [nv-l] Netview-TEC integration
Hi all:
Supposing we have an integration Netview-TEC environment.
If we add the following lines to the configuration integration file
/opt/OV/conf/tecint.conf:
BufEvtPath=/tmp/netview_tec.cache
BufEvtMaxSize=200
And stop TEC.
All generated Netview-Event by Netview is cached in the file
/tmp/netview_tec.cache until TEC is up or by the contrary any generated
Netview-Event during a TEC-Stop period is lost??
Thanks in advance:
José María
