Not sure with netview, but one way of accomplishing this would be through
'sniffing' you local NIC's on the oracle Server or 'Monitoring' your LAN
 
You could use the open source app 'Snort' to monitor traffic (
http://www.snort.org/ <http://www.snort.org/> ).  Snort is classified as a
Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), but will accomplish your task
easily.  however, I prefer to write my own using the parent library
'libpcap'.  This is the library 99% of all sniffers use for their work.  At
www.tcpdump.org <http://www.tcpdump.org>  you will find the library source
and here ( http://www.cet.nau.edu/~mc8/Socket/Tutorials/section1.html
<http://www.cet.nau.edu/~mc8/Socket/Tutorials/section1.html> ) is a great
tutorial on the basics which helped me get started.
 
Back on point, once you have 'sniffed' you UDP connection request, send a
trap via your own SNMP stack, other utilities, or another SNMP stack.

Is there a way to configure NetView to monitor the different UDP ports for
applications?  For example, if I wanted to monitor the Oracle ports on an
Oracle server?  If not is there an add-on or third party application that
will allow this to happen?
