Avikam,

I have found out the manual 'Netview Installation and Configuration' for
version 5 (SC31-8442-00). On page 8-16 it says to use the exclamation mark to
exclude some nodes from discovery. Here is what the manual for version 5 says:

"Specify nodes that you do not want netmon to discover by preceding specific
nodes or groups of nodes with an exclamation mark (!). If a group of nodes is
specified without the ! operator and an overlapping group of nodes is specified
with the ! operator, the ! operator has the higher priority. Nodes in the
overlapping range will not be discovered. If you have listed specific nodes
in the seed file that also fall within a range of nodes specified with the !
operator, the specific nodes have the higher priority. The specific nodes
will be discovered."

perhaps also make sure netmon is started with the '-s' switch telling him to
take the seed file into account (-s<seedfile>).

Hope this helps.
Bernard.
