I wonder why you would doubt it. I can vouch for it. I've used it for
years in
about a hundred different customers' networks. For collecting, that is.
It is quite efficient and I would not consider writing a tool to do it.
Dump
the data to a relational database for easiest external reporting with the
tool of your choice.

Hi list,
Just wondering if anyone is reliably collecting SNMP data through
snmpCollect for stats reporting? I'm thinking about doing this on Solaris
with NV 7.1.2. I only need to collect from about 40-50 devices, approx 15
mins intervals and around 4 mib values per device.
I'm going to feed this into rrdtool to graph up, but a just debating using
snmpCollect or writing some scripts to snmpget the values (or mrtg
depending on how complex that it to setup).
