Catalina,

I wrote a script that we run from time to time to check that every device
in our host file (an export of our DNS) is also in Netview.
It pings the devices and does a query in Netview database to check if the
interface is there and what it's status is.
we use it
- to make sure that every device is monitored by Netview
- to detect devices that no longer exist and clean our DNS
- detect any difference we might have between DNS and Netview (name
difference)

The scripts can take a very long amount of time to run depending on the
size of your network (several hours) but it does what you seams to be
looking for. I will send it to you if you want.

Hello,

I just have a administrativel question on how you determine the
correctness of your maps? How do you verify that all devices that need
to be monitored are on Netview? Do you run a script periodically? Is it
a manual process?

I have been tasked with making sure that all devices on our network are
being monitored by netview? I dont know if there is an easy way of doing
this..We have one spreadsheet that has all WAN devices but it does not
include local devices...

All suggestions welcomed...
