If you are going to fake it, you might try faking it all the way. Use
the EXPRESSION approach and actually define the expression
in mibExpr.conf with more fake stuff. Seems to me I ran into
something similar once and that approach worked.

smconvert question

Please respond to

Greetings. I have a data source that collects via another means outside of
of the MLM and NetView data collection processes. I convert my data via a
perl script into a format that looks almost exactly like the midmand.col
MLM
data collection. My intent is to then run the smconvert utility and import
the data into NetViews RIM on oracle. All is well until I run the
smconvert
utility. The command runs without errors but does not produce the
xnmcollect file. Any pointers as to what I'm doing wrong? I have attached
a sample of the midmand.col file along with the smconvert command that I am
running.
1018002212: 04/05/2002 04:23:32 EXPRESSION
10.16.27.221:Latency1-10.16.30.1-AVG = 4
smconvert -d ./ AVG.txt
Originally I had the EXPRESSION set to an INTEGER but that complained
because I did not have a valid MIB definition.
