Sama,

I had the exact problem and it was down to the X11.vfb missing, I cannot
remember the exact file name, but if you look in /tmp for installation
logfiles, I believe you'll find this listed as an error.

Are you on AIX?  If so, have you installed the X11.vfb element of AIX?
