Re: How to use paging?

This is a multipart message in MIME format. There is no point in testing with your own commands, unless that is what
you want to put in your script and call from an action node in a ruleset.
NetView has its own paging facility, but before you try this with a
ruleset, you will need to get it working from the command line.
The NetView command is nvpage. There is a man page on it. Before you can
use it successfully, you will have to configure the nv.carriers file and
the nvpager.conf file in /usr/OV/conf. And nvpager.config will have you
specify a modem file to describe your modem. The setup is described in
the NetView Administrator's Guide. If you think you have done all this
correctly and still cannot get it to work, take a look at the
nvpagerd.alog and nvpagerd.errlog in /usr/OV/log.
If you like, you can also re-register nvpagerd so that he will trace
everything he does.To do this
(1) edit /usr/OV/lrf/nvpagerd.lrf and change the line which reads
OVs_YES_START:nvsecd::OVs_WELL_BEHAVED:60:
to
OVs_YES_START:nvsecd:-d:OVs_WELL_BEHAVED:60:
(2) ovdelobj /usr/OV/lrf/nvpagerd.lrf ( this de-registers the current
daemon)
(3) ovaddobj /usr/OV/lrf/nvpagerd.lrf (this adds the new definition)
You can reverse the process at any time when you don't want to trace any
more.
Support can help you with any of this if you want personalized assistance.
