Unless they are in the seed file with the "$" sign they should NOT be SNMP
managed - I would OVTOPODUMP the node and look for:

This node IS SNMP managed

TOPOLOGY POLL: MAXIMUM TIME
SNMP STATUS POLL: Thu 18 Oct 2001 02:13:29 PM C
OTHER POLLING INTERVALS/TIMES:

This node is NOT SNMP managed

TOPOLOGY POLL: MAXIMUM TIME
SNMP STATUS POLL: MAXIMUM TIME
OTHER POLLING INTERVALS/TIMES:

HOWEVER, this won't really fix your problem because the SNMP config poll is
picking the stuff up out of the interface table. So I don't know how you
would prevent it.

Even in the seed file, if you exclude the range of the redundant interfaces,
you will still get them if you have put the node itself in the seed file
(you can't negate something you choose to discover).

Thanks Scott,

This opens another question. We have nodes with private networks that are
not accessable from ouside of that network. NetView is "seeing" these
network IP addresses through the SNMP demand polls and reports the status.
The IP addresses in this private network are also used in the regular
network so NetView thinks its a duplicate. Is there a way to tell NetView to

look at these nodes via IP and not SNMP so we can avoid this?

Scott
