Take a look at the root Administrator desktop properties.
You will see that it executes as root. On your new Administrator
desktop, set those properties the same way. That is, the
login is your unix user, but it executes as root. Then the
user will be able to do those root functions that are available
from the Tivoli context menu. And if you launch the map
from the Tivoli context menu, those map menu functions
that require root will be available to you as well.

Keep in mind however that the serversetup function is
supposed to be the strategic solution. That will mean that
you will need to use some function like su or powerbroker
to enable root access for a non-root administrator.

Hi,

I had NV 6.0.1 on AIX 4.3.3

I had Installed NetView on Managed node, through root user as prerequisits.
I had configured Unix level user, for NetView Administration (Who uses
X-emulation S/W to access the NetView console) such as stopping daemons,
Editing Maps, etc. Now to handover the Netview administration I configured
this user to be super user (put it in system group) still I am not able to
perform the administration operations through this account.

Can anybody suggest ASAP how to achieve this.

Thanx in advance
Regards,
Santosh
