Folks,
I'd like to introduce myself. I am the new Technical Evangelist for
NetView at Tivoli. I was pointed to this discussion by a couple of folks
(thanks!) and would like to offer some help. I would like to volunteer to be
your voice to IBM. As Leslie mentioned, it is very important to prioritize
what your true requirements are and then I would like to take them forward
and make sure that they get entered into our requirements database. This can
certainly help my cause as the more customer need that we can show for
enhancements the more likely we are to get resource and support to include
them. The main information that I would need about requirements are the
customers (companies) who are requesting them and what the business need is.
I welcome any additional suggestions or comments....Thanks!

Okay, I am working on establishing a forum via EZboard, its not ready yet. I
need input on a few items:
1. Categories - I would like to set up discussion board on each major area.
(such as NETMON, GUI, automation, traps, mibs etc.) Those of you who are
interested, could you post a list of potential categories? James/Leslie
could you review this list as a reality check on if we are covering all the
functional areas?
2. Specialists - I would like to find volunteers literate in each of the
categories as a "champion" for that forum. Are there any volunteers?
3. Standards - We need to establish standards on the "deliverables" we will
be forwarding to marketing. What form will they be? what are the
documentation requirements? etc.
4. Marketing - could those of you who deal with your marketing specialists
ask them if they would like to volunteer to read, absorb and reply. This is
critical, because we want marketing staff to make the enhancement requests
through several channels. Ideally, we would have reps from several different
geographic regions and ranging from large companies to small, consultants to
corporate environments.
5. Name - we need a name for the forum.... something that strikes fear into
the hearts of the developers (just kidding)... I was thinking of "TERROR"
(Tivoli Enhancement Request Repository Of Revelations - okay that was hokey
but you get the idea)
