Hi everybody,

I have NetView 6.0.1 on AIX 4.3.3.

I wanted to do status monitoring for some non-SNMP devices having IP
address only, through TNV and accordingly have discovered the same through
auto discovery mode. Subsequently, I have created two smart sets - one
for normal_node and the another for critical_node and based on its status,
it initiates a mail. But, the problem we are facing is :-

(1) the no of discovered nodes are not matching with the actual nos. of
such nodes in the smartset. Further, some of such nodes are
in the default map but does not come in the smart set.
(2) At times, same nodes are present in both the samert sets ( normal
and critical )

polling parameters set for such nodes are ( time out - 20s, retry - 3 nos,
status polling -15m )

Please advice how this problem should be addressed ? Also, is there any
limitations on no. of node for smartset and netmon. I am having nearly 190
no. of non-snmp nodes and the total no of nodes in the database is more
than 10,000.
