The internal TEC adapter in NetView is built using the TEC library
functions, (it links in TEC libraries at build time) and TEC does not
support an adapter routing to more than one TEC at a time. So NetView
cannot route to more than one TEC at a time either using the usual
That said however, you could write a ruleset which picked out the traps you
want to send to "the other guy" and use an Action node in which you had a
script using wpostemsg to send to the alternate TEC. That should work.
But the internal adapter is primary or backup only, one at a time.

Subject: [NV-L] Is it possible to forward SNMP Traps to More than One TEC
I'm learning Netview (slowly) and in our environment, we may want to
forward some SNMP alerts to one TEC and different alerts to a second TEC.
I know you can configure a primary and backup TEC, but I'm wanting to use
one Netview (UNIX version) to be the receiver of all SNMP traps in the
network and possibly forward them to different level TEC machines. Using
rulesets, it appears that you can customize the trap processing. Does this
include potentially setting a unique TEC destination per trap? Is this
reasonable, or bordering on a maintenance nightmare? Advice and
suggestions welcomed and appreciated.
