James may well have your problem diagnosed if you are the same map on
both server and client.  If you have different read/write maps running
on client and server, it is just worth checking that they are in synch
with respect to time.  I seem to remember that strange things happen if
your clients and server don't have a very close idea on time.  Run NTP
or something similar.
