Les, I'm sure you are kidding. But just in case you are not,
and because there are probably impressionable new users
listening...

tar   -cvf  mybackup.tar  /usr/OV/databases/openview

Do this regularly, do it when the map is just the way you like it, do
it before that mksysb you do of the whole system for disaster recovery.
Do it with at least netmon stopped. (Support would prefer that you
stop everything, but better one with stuff up than none at all, I say).
Do it after that 'ovtopofix -a/A' that you do weekly. And restore it
(with all daemons stopped) with:

     pax  -rp  e  -f  mybackup.tar

This is against the day when you call Support and they tell you that
you have corruption and must rediscover the network and redo
you elaborate cut and paste job. Or the day when someone
pushes the 'redo layout' button. Or netmon gets away from you
and discovers the internet. Or you try the Filter button on the top
level map. All of these have happened to me, and I promise
that at least one of them will happen to you eventually.
