The Eleventh Annual IFIP/IEEE International Workshop on "Distributed
Systems: Operations and Management" (DSOM 2000) will be hosted by the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University ofTexas
at Austin. DSOM 2000 is sponsored by IFIP Working Group 6.6 with technical
co-sponsorship by the IEEE Communications Society. DSOM 2000 follows a
series of highly successful meetings, the latest of which took place in
Zurich, Switzerland (DSOM'99), Delaware, USA (DSOM'98), and Sydney,
Australia (DSOM'97).

The DSOM workshops focus on the latest advancements in operations and
management in networked environments and discuss the impact of emerging
computing and networking technologies on management. Of specific interest
to DSOM 2000 will be the current developments in the field of services
management in intelligent networks.

The workshop will be limited to approximately 100 participants and will
follow a single track program in order to allow for in-depth discussions
and interaction among workshop participants. The workshop proceedings will
be published by the IEEE.

TOPICS
Authors are invited to submit research and experience papers.
Topics of interest include:
        - Telecommunication Services Management
        - Management of the Internet and Internet Services
        - Inter-Domain Management
        - Management of Mobile Systems and Networks
        - Mobile and Intelligent Agent Technology in Management
        - Enabling Management Platforms: CORBA, Java, Web, etc.
        - Integration of Network Control and Management
        - Monitoring, Event Handling, and Fault Management of
          Networks and Services
        - Policy-Based Management
        - Security Management
        - QOS Management
        - Management of Active and Programmable Networks
        - Management Aspects of Electronic Commerce

PAPER SUBMISSIONS

The workshop will include paper sessions, 'work in progress' sessions and
Panel discussions. A limited number of presentations of recent research
results will be selected for the 'work in progress' sessions. To be
considered for these, an extended abstract of no more than three pages
should be submitted describing the research area and its significance.

Suggestions for Panel discussion topics and potential panelists should be
sent to the conference chair.

Paper submissions must present original, unpublished research or
experiences. They should be full papers and be no longer than 5000 words
(no more than 12 single-spaced pages). Submissions must include a cover
page, containing the title, author name(s) and affiliation(s), the complete
address (telephone, fax, email) of the corresponding author, and an
abstract (max 150 words) followed by up to 5 keywords.

Papers under review elsewhere must not be submitted to DSOM 2000.

Authors are requested to submit papers in electronic PDF or Postscript
format. Instructions for electronic submissions are available at the
conference Web site (http://dpnm.postech.ac.kr/conf/dsom2000).
