Alain,

which are the NetView ressources you want to share with your Tivoli environment
?
As you did a recent posting in this list about the TIPN, I assume that you want,
within NetView, to discover your Tivoli systems in your network, import network
data from NetView in Inventory, etc ? Am I guessing right ?

What you could do is interconnect your "NetView" stand-alone TMR to the master
TMR of your environment. This way you can exchange Tivoli and network knowledge
in both directions. But don't forget that the Tivoli Discovery functionnality
that is provided in the TIPN package (you get a menu item for this in the new
"Tivoli" menu you get after installation of the TIPN package) will only discover
Tivoli ressources that are directly interconnected to your NetView TMR.
So let us say that, for instance, you have a master TMR in your environment, and
that this master TMR is connected (one-way) to multiple regional TMRs, and you
interconnect your NetView TMR to that "master" TMR : you will not be able to
discover Managed Nodes, PCMN, endpoints or PC Agents that are ressources of the
regional TMRs. In that case, the best choice would be, indeed, to make your
NetView server a Managed Node of your master TMR, and then install NetView 5.1.2
on it.

In any case, check with the Tivoli team of your company. They'll be glad to help
you.

Cheers,

Frederic
