You are aware of course that NetView V4 is out of support everywhere except
Japan.

Your procedure will work; we do it in the lab with customer data. But you must
run /usr/OV/install/reset_ci after you boot the box. Because you have cloned
a running NetView the daemons will start, but I would not attempt to open a map
until after reset_ci has run successfully.

Subject: Setting up test Netview Server

Hi all

We have a netview server running Netview V4R1. I am going to setup a test
netview box by restoring a mksysb from the production netview server to this
test box on a different subnet and making the corresponding ip changes.

Before attempting this I thought I will get an opinion as to if it is feasible.
If yes then are there any pitfalls or gochas I should watch out for. It would be
nice to hear good or bad experiences.
