You can also check/uncheck the "Discover Node(s) Managed" box in the
Options...SNMP Configuration... config. window.

snmptrap and snmpset can not be used to change managed state.

As far as I know there is no command-line method to manage/unmanage a node.
There are only two methods where the user has the ability to
manage/unmanage nodes, one of cause is the GUI, the other is at discovery
time of non-snmp devices by the use of DEFAULT_IP: : :U in the oid_to_type
file.

Hi list,

Does someone know if it's possible to manage/umanage Nodes directly from
the
shell
(command line) or via a SNMP Set ?

I tried to internally generate the 'Manage Node' trap (#50790418) via
snmptrap, but
It doesn't seem to work on the node (as opposed to the 'set status' trap
which works great)

Thanks !
Cheers,
Luca
