No...Netview will only do status & config polls of the devices it has
discovered (which you've limited with a seedfile). You have it right!

Hi  !

In our Netview environment we are using a seed file
to limit discovery (*.*.*.1-50).
In the snmp configuration dialog box "Default"
we will try to put in: Target= *.*.*.* Status polling = 5min and retry
count=3
Our goal is to minimize network traffic !
Would this configuration cause netview to ping nodes other than
those that are discovered and managed by netview ?

We are running NV5.1 on Solaris 2.6.

Mvh/regards
